What Benefits Are Gained in Adopting a Matrix Approach in Terms of Organizational Structure?

In this Article, it says about a Hierarchical organizational structure. A Hierarchical organizational structure describes the positions of every individuals working in the organization, Staring from the founder or owner at the top. Here it describes about the Matrix organizational structure.Matrix organizational structure is a complex organizational form. Though its hard to understand, it provides benefits to the organization for customer satisfaction and business performance.It improves the company's interaction with the business environment and aligns company efforts with the needs of its target market.Some benefits which we gain by adopting a Matrix Approach in Terms of Organizational Structure are :

Use of Resources-

Matrix organizational Structure is completly different from Traditional Organizational Structure.In this organizational Structure, when a expert is need to do some work which is lacking in a company instead of hireing a new member a employee from another department or a less qualified employee can address to solve the problem  for specific period of time.As soon as the problem is finished the person can go back to their own department.Like this, a company can choose an expert to solve the problem form his own company.

Market Alignment-

In Traditional Organizational structure,it focuses on one aspect of market such as product, function or geographical location.They cannot add other employees who work in another department. But in Matrix Organizational  Structure' we can add other functions too such as coordination and integrating functions to permit influences from all aspects of market to interact with our organizational structure.In this a employee from one department can have a matrix link with another department.

Competition- 

Competition occurs in every level of business organization. If we use Matrix organizational structure, we can take quick decisions in terms of competitors. the employees who work at working level analyze the market changes and the actions of the competitors and react accordingly.in this organizational structure there is high amount of authority power.So that the employees can follow quick decision without following the hierarchical structure.
