This type of leader must influence the behaviour of his followers.He should be able to solve the problems among the followers. A leader should be able to perform the work better than others so that his followers will consider him as a bench mark to perform the work.
3) Affiliative
As we know that a leader must try to maintain a healthy working environment in his team. He should belive that productivity of an organization will increase only when there is harmony among their team.
He should be able to solve the problems among the followers and should act as Arbitrator if conflict arise between his followers.
4) Democratic
This type of leader is Democratic in nature. He crates a best group so that their work runs smoothly and can achive their organizational goal.In this type of leadership style power and authorities are delegated among the followers.All the decisions are taken by the leaders only after consulting with their followers.Here leaders highly encourage his subordinates to share their views and ideas.
5) Pacesetting
In this style, The leader wants the work to be done faster and better.So that they can achive their organizational goal as soon as possible.But Mr. Goleman warns this style should be used sparingly,because it can undercut morale and make people feel as if they are failing.
6) Commanding
This type of leadership style is a model of "military" style leadership.It is most oftenly used but is not often effective. Decisions are made and issued only by the leaders. Full authority and power as well as responsibility is centralized within the leader.They mostly follow negative motivation to their followers through threats and corporate punishment.Communication system is just one way.
